BBFI Missions Center

Located in Springfield, Missouri, this thoughtfully designed 10-acre campus serves as both a modern workplace and supportive living community for retiring missionaries. The 13,273 SF office building, completed in 2024, features a striking two-story volume at its core with exposed wood ceiling and structural elements, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere while maintaining a modern aesthetic. A strategic central core efficiently separates public and private spaces while maintaining accessibility throughout. The building's high-performance envelope, with meticulous attention to airtightness and thermal barriers, ensures long-term operational efficiency.

Phase two of the development, scheduled for completion in 2025, includes a 5,632 SF community center alongside a mix of short-term and long-term housing units totaling 11,974 SF. The masterplan optimizes the 10-acre site to create distinct yet connected zones for working, living, and community gathering. Simple, efficient building forms enhanced by thoughtful design details maintain cost-effectiveness while creating a forward-thinking campus that serves multiple purposes: a modern, professional workplace that projects organizational vitality, and a supportive living community that provides affordable, comfortable homes for retiring missionaries.
